A TIRED HOUSE.
In the early hours of yesterday morning, the Government were aixious to pass the first item of the Public Works Estimates. At times during the discussion there was less than a quorum present in the House, which means that over 60 out of 80 of the people's representatives were conspicuous by their absence. Tin 1 Opposition moved to report progress, and this was only lost by 17 to 10. Fifty-three members were absent. Mr Massey drew attention to the serious nature of the position, for, he stid, the Opposition had only to leaoe the Chamber, and'the ; business would come to a standstill.
