LONDON WOOL SALES.

A BRISK OPENING. BY TELEGRAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION. Received September 30, 11.15 a.m. LONDON, September 29. The wool Bales opened brisk. Good casses are firm, and faulties 5 per cent, lower.

Levin and Co., Wellington, have received th following message from their London agents:—"The market is steady. There is a good demand for coarse crossbreds, also, medium and slipe wools. Faulty merinos rather weaker. Ottier qualities are unchanged. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cable message from their London office, dated ~29th September:—"The wool sales have opened with a good selection. There is a large attendance of buyers and competition is animated. Prices are unchanged for merinos generally,. fine crossbreds, medium and coarse crossbreds, but for heavy earthy and wasty merinos prices are at par to 5 per cent, lower as compared with the closing rates of last seriefi. Shabby crossbred wools, greasy, are also at from par to 5 per cent, lower. Slipe wools sto 1\ per cent, lower." ThoN.Z.L. & M.A. Co., Wellington, yescerday, leceived the following cablegram from their London house:—"Wool—As compared with last sales closing rates prices are lower about par to 5 per cent, for merino, medium and inferior and greasy crossbred; and about 5 per cent. 1 lower for crossbred scoured and crossbred slipe. For good merino the market is firm. The attendance at the sales is good, but bidding was not very keen." ,

Received September 30, 9.58 p.m. LONDON, September 30. Messrs Buxton, Ducroy and Balme submitted a joint catalogue of 13,37 9 bales, including 7,295 bales from New Zealand. The wool was largely slips and scoureds. There was a full attendance of buyers, including Americans. There was keen competition from all quarters for all the best wools. Compared with the July closing rates, good merino was unchanged; faulty and shabby were par to 5 per cent, easier'; fine crossbreds unchaned; coarse greasies 5 per cent, easier; slipes and scoureds 75 per cent, easier.

As is well-known Mr McKenzie has nothing but first-class stock, and this should prove an excellent opportunity for graziers to secure suitable cattle.
