CRICKET.
The first annual meeting of the Carswelld Cricket Club was held on Monua> laot. There was a large attendance of members, and Mr J. Greenuank was voted to'the chair. The bala.ice sheet showed a debit balance at £2 Is 7d. The report and balance sheet were unanimously , adopted The following officers were elected for the ensuing year—Patron, Mr W. Liverton; Piesident, Mr Hugh Vice-Piesidents, Messrs Rupert Morrison, C. D. Speedy and J. Fuller; Hon. Secretary,and Treasurer, Mr G. M. Curtis; Management Committee, Messrs J. Greenbank, -&. Leach aud J. Hyde. A of thanfc.-> to the. Chairman terminated ■ the meecitig. Tne (Jarlcon Cricket Club will hold a practice on the Park Oval this ; afternoon. All members are requested to be present.
The annual meeting of the Maaterion Cricket Association will be held next Wednesday. It is intended to try and commence the season earlier than usual this year. A meeting of the Pahiatua Cricket Club was h°ld oo Tuesday last. The captain (Rev. W. H. Speer) occupied ] the chair, and there was a fair number o£ the members present, The report and balance sheet, which were adopted, showed the Club had had a successful season, winning nine and losing three out of twelve matches played. H. Pearcey won the best bowling average, and also topped the batting with an average of 21.8. Several new members were elected, and the following officers were elected for the ensuing season Patron, Mr W. H. Hawkins; President, Mr J. Tosswill; Vice-presidents, Messrs G. H. Smith, J. 0. Lilly, H. McSherry, E. Hughes and Rev. T. McKenna; Capain, Rev. W. 11. Speer; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr M. J. Carpenter: Committee, Messrs Boagey | H. Pearcey, Milligan and Dobbie. The following team will represent the Rivals against the W.F.C.A., on the Schoolgrounds, this afternoon:— Thynne, Gray, Lomas, Clarke, McKenzie, Dwyer, Lyttle, Morris, Edwards, Richards, Thompson, Williams. The annual meeting of members ot the Carterton Thursday Cricket Club was held at Carterton cn Tuesday evening. The Rev. W. J. Elliott occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet, which disclosed a very satisfactory state of affairs, was adopted as read. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year Patron, Mr W. C. Buchanan; President, Mr_W. Moore; Vice-presidents, Messrs das. Brown, J. T. M. Hornsby, W. Halley, Jno. Brown, J. A. Dudson and H. Keltie; Captain, Mr A. C. Feast; Vice-Captain, Mr H. Hawker; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr V. L. Fairbrother; Match and Management Committee, Itev. Elliott, C. Williams and the Captain and Secretary ; Delegates to Wairarapa Thursday Association, the Captain and Secretary. Eight new members were; elected. The subscription for the season was fixed at 10s 6d.
