WAIRARAPA AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB.
MEETING OP MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The Commutes of the Wairarapa Amateur Swimming Club met last evening, the chair being occupied by Mr E. R, 13. Daniel. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the various donors of trophies. In regard to the cup, presented by Mr a. A. Noble-Campbell, it was decided to abide by the conditions laid down by the donor. The cup is to be given as a points trophy for races over six distances, and the neatest header. Not less than twenty entries must be received, the races to be as follows:—2syds (scratch) compulsory; 40yds, 50yds, 66yds, 75yds, 100 yds (handicap). The races will be held at-fixed intervals during the season.
It was decided to open the season on Thursday week, on the Park Lake. A handicap race of 40yds will then take place for a trophy presented by Mr ,E. Richards, entries to bo received on the day of the race. Other races will also be held for trophy prizes. It was decided to instruct the Club's dele-gate in Wellington to advocate at the New Zealand Centre meetings for Hie holding of the New Zealand Championships at Masterton. Ihe question, of grading swimmers, recommended by the annual meeting, was held over.
