MR BRYAN'S CHALLENGE. PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT IN REPLY. Received September 25, 8.40 a.m. NEW YORK, September 24. President Roosevelt, in reply to Mr W. J. Bryan's challenge, declares that Governor Haskell is a disgrace to the nation and totally unfit for a public position. Mr Roosevelt cites Haskell's former record as a company promoter on Wall Street, and describes him as a corrupt official, and a tool of the Standard Oil Trust.
