THE WAIRARAPA AND EAST COAST SOCIETY'S SHOW.

The thought and attention bestowed by those in authority on the best interests of the breeders, farmers, and others interested in New Zealand is clenrly evidenced and displayed by a glance through the programme just issued by the Wairarapa ani East Coast P. and A. Society for their thirty-first annual Show. Ic contains various points of interest, the principal of which is the increase of prize-money in the cattle and sheep classes, which now stands at an amount exceeded only by the leading A. and P. Associations of the Dominion. In each of the sections for purebred sheep £26 is offered, and the Society may confidently ?xpect this part of its Show to be well supported, catered for as it is, and considering the wide area of the district which the interests of the Show embraces. In dairy cattle, the amount in prizes offered is £35 in each section. These are always well filled ant) the competition keen, and with the extra incentive mentioned should result in records for the Society in the number of stock entered. Exhibitors in the horse classes will Doubtless appreciate the special feature the Society has always made of accepting entries duplicated in two or more classes. The attention of cheese factory managers is directed to the produce section. The Society has made a notable point in the prizemoney allotted to the four cheese clashes. The aggregate value being £4O 6s 6d —one of the classes being for cheese judged at the Show and' then consigned to the Home market and judged again there; prizes given on each award. The programme for the Show on October 28th and 29th is well worth perusal by breeders and exhibitors, and can be obtained direct from the secretary (Mr li. S. 2v!oss); at Carterton. Entries will close on October 17th.
