CARTERTON FIRE BRIGADE BAZAAR.

The Bazaar in aid or the funds of the Carterton Vdunteer Fire Brigade Bazaar, was opened in Victoria Hall, Carterton, at 2 p.m., yesterday, by the Mayor of Carterton (Mr J/Y. Mnore). The stalls were attractively arrari"? ed,ancl brisic business wad (io.ie y.i w.~ afternoon, and there was a large attendance of the public.

In the evening a torchlight procession was held, being headed by the Carterton Brass Bind The following took part in the procession headed by the Carterton Band: —Carterton Fire Brigade, Masterton Fire Brigade, Masterton Fiie Police, Martinborough Fire Brigade, Grfrytown Fire Brigade, Featherston Fire Brigade. Daring the evening at the bazaar songs were sung by Miss E. Joyce (2) and an exhibition of fancy club swinging given by Miss F. Scott was vociferously encored. The principal raffles were won by the following Messrs Williams, W. Levick (2), Arcus, Lang, S. Baillie, Wallace, L. Hood, Mesdamea F. Roydhouse, Kelly, Miss Daly, Miss Lawrence, Miss Cameron and Master I Baillie.

The nail-driving competition was won by Mr W. Hall.
