THE ARBITRATION BILL.

The Arbitration Bill may be regained as the last ditch of the strikeless theory, says the "Southland News." It is absolutely certain, that if it does not "do the trick," there will be an end of the Arbitration Act, and the giddy worker will have to return to the dismal Swamp of Strike. For the present, however, the only person untouched by the serenity of the general acceptance of the Bill is the professional agitator. His occupation is gone if the Bill becomes law. The employers smile on the measure, the workers assume a cheerful attitude, the Labour representatives in Parliament look as if they had attained to the peace which has been for a generation almost unexpected. The Bill represents a feat of sound work, the equal of anything ever done in the Dominion or anwyhere else, and nowhere surpassed in the annals of effort.
