OBITUARY.

Mli FRANK BCICK. Universal regret will be felt 1 throughout the district at the fatal termination of the serious illness which has laid aside Mr Frank Buick, of Burnside, for some weeks past. Mr Buick passed away at midnight last night, his illness having assumed a critical stage late in the afternoon, although'only on Tuesday he seemed to have taken a turn for the better. The late Mr Buick, who was only about 24 years of age, was a very papular young man, and well-known i throughout the district. He was +he youngest son of the late Mr W. B. ! Buick, and inherited to a very great j extent his father's sterling qualities ;as a settler. He was a good farmer, | a keen and clean sportsman, and an enthusiast in all matters into which he entered. He was a prominent member of the Masterton Racing Club, and of the Wairarapa Hunt Club, in the latter body holding the J poJJon of Deputy Master of the hounds. He was also a member of the .Masterton A. and P. Association, ard other lesser important ! organisations. Within the past two I years he married Miss M. Breen, of | Reefton, and he leaves, besides his ' *.vife, one son. He also leaves a j mother, two sisters and three broth- ' ers. All these will have the deepest j sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement. The cause of ' death was a complication of typhoid fever anl a severe attack of bronchitis, the utmost medical and nuis4ng skill being assiduously devoted to tho last to stay the progress of the malady.
