CONNELLY PERJURY CASE.

BY TELECHI VFH I'BES-f ASSOCIATION. HOKITIKA, September 22. The Connelly perjury case was continued to-day. Formal evidence was ;given as to the distances of various places and points. The evidence of Mrs Pearce , of Westport, who said ;jihe was an eyewitness to the murder by Connelly took considerable time. Witness denied some passages in the original depositions, and was cautioned later on and closely examined by His Honor as to why she had not informed the police at the outset of what she had seen, especially as Inspector Black made a personal enquiry. Witness replied thst she was frightened, not having any protection.
