AN AMBULANCE INSPECTION.
VISIT TO MASTERTON OF MR H. H. SEED. There was an excellent attendance at the Dominion Hall last evening of the Masterton branch of St. John Ambulance Brigade, the occasion being the visit to the branch of Inspector H. H. Seed, District Inspector. The Inspector was introduced by the superintendents, Miss N. Gillespie and Mr A. Donald, and in the course of a few remarks which he addresse i to the corp s , the Inspector impressed upon his hearers the importance of a visit men' as he was paying,ai it ?howed the work of the corps tor a whole year in a short compass of timp,' and yet the whole ground work was covered sufficiently to indicate bow much interest was taken by members in their work. The officers of the corps were then /übmitted to a , brief but searching examination of the work connected with their departments. Practical demonstrations were asked for by the Inspector, and given. At the conclusion of their efforts he complimented them on the high standard of efficiency a'tained by them. The class members were then examined in practice and theory, and as they proceeded wi*h the former part of the examination, Mr Seed inspected their work personally, giving hints here and there in points which individual members appeared weakest in. As a result of the examination of the classes, Mr Seed found himself very pleased with the strides made. He thought the local branch was well up in its work, con-; sidering the short period which has elapsed since the Masterton branch was established. A pleasant time was spent at the conclusion of the inspection in a social manner. A dainty supper had been prepared by the Ladies' Division, and to this full justice was done. Matters in connection with the advancement of the work of the Association were discussed during the progress of the supper, a pleasant and profitable evening terminating at about 10.30 o'clock.
