MEETING OF MEMBERS.

A general meeting of members of the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society was held on the Showgrounds at Cart2rcon yesterday afternoon. There vvtfre 25 members present, and Mr W. Howard Booth, Vice-President, occupied the chair. The Treasurer submitted a financial statement, showing a debit balance of £157 9s Sd. A letter was received from Mr J. Hopkin3, Government Bee Expert, of Auckland, in which he offered to give an exhibition of transferring and handling 'bees at the Society's Show. It was decided to write to Mr Hopkins, thanking him, and informing him that the Society would accept his offer. It was reported that the Stock Department had agreed to undertake the superintending of the butter fat competitions. Six new members were elected. The minutes of meeting of the Societies' and Wairarapa Dairy Companies delegates were read to the meeting and approved of, subject to the words "that herds of less than seven should not be allowed to compete" be altered to read "competitors must be factory suppliers, and be prepared to hand in certificate of factory managers to the effect that they are suppliers." The Secretary was instructed to ask the Railway Department to get the Rhodes Street crossing put in before the Society's Show. Attention was called to the necessity of minor improvements being effected to one of the grandstands, and it was resolved that the Ground ' Committee consider the same. The two Vice-Presidents and Mr G. G ask in were appointed a committee to control the butter fat compactions. It was decided that a class not inserted in the programme for "Trick Pony" be among the second day competitions, with first and second prizes of £2 and .21 respectively.
