Messrs Abraham and Williams report on their Eketahuna sale as follows:—With the exception of one line all sheep advertised came forward. The demand for well-grown hoggets was fairly good. We quote the following prices:—Mixed hoggets from 8b lOd to 12s Id, ewe hoggets 12s, wether hoggets 10s lid, cull hoggets 7s 3d. We had a air yarding of dairy cows and heifers, but they were dull of sale. We sold a line of six heifers at £3 9s 6d, and quote cows from £2 15s to' £3 15s. Messrs Dalgety arid Co., Ltd., report as follows:—We held our fortnightly sale at the Greytown saleyards yesterday (Monday, September 14th), where we offered 350 sheep and 98 head of cattle, which were well over advertised numbers. Buyers were rather slow to take advantage of the bargains offering in several cases, but taken as a whole the currtnc market rates were well kept up. We quote: Hoggets, 7s lid to Ha lid; merino ewes with lambs, 8s tid; fat and forward wethers, 14s 2d; ewes with lamoa, lis 7d. Cattle — Empty heifers, £2 la to £2 10s; 2year heifers, 355; 2-year steers, £2 2s: backward store cows, £1 6s; fat cows, very good, £5 lis; dairy cows, latu calvers, £3 to £4 5a to £4 12s 6d. Our next sale will be held on Monday, September 28th.
