MOROCCO.

'.GERMANY AT IT AGAIN. MORE TROUBLE FEARED. Received September 11, 12.20 a.m. LONDON, September 10. Possible trouble is feared as the result of Germany, through the Legation requesting the Moorish Government to release Kaid.Ermiki, one of the first northern Governors who adopted the Hafidian cause. European legations have claims arising out of his robberies and extortions, and his arrest was secured at the instance of Mulai Hafid, Commander-in Chief. Erm'iki's nephew, a German protege, was released, and thereupon Germany claimed the Kaid's release, and showed a list of seven members of the Kaid's family as being German protected subjects.' To this Menebhi has replied: "The Kaid is solely a Moorish official and not a protege. and Germany is overstepping her right." The German excuse is that the Kaid served Mulai Hatid's interests well.
