THE GLADIATOR.
Received September 10, 9.35 a.m. LONDON, September 9. The'salvors have righted the cruiser Gladiator, Which collided with the American liner St. Paul, off Yarmouth, on April 25th last. The collision' occurred during a snowstorm, while the cruiser vvaa returning from Portland to Spithead. Sailors on the warship asserted that the cruiser was in her own water, but went to port, but the liner, instead of changing her direction, kept on her course, precipitating the disaster. Their evidence was contradicted by witnesses on the liner. Twenty-three of the warship's crew lost their lives. A court-martial reprimanded the commander of the cruiser, Captain Walter Lumsden, who was also dismissed his ship.
