THE PERRY STREET SHOOTING CASE.
Tobias Miller stood in the dock at the Masterton Police Court, yesterday, charged with shooting at Ernest Hight with intent to kill. The Bench was occupied by Messrs Eli Smith and John Cross, J.P.'s. Accused, who looked very pale and careworn, was unrepresented by counsel. He did not exhibit any very great inurest in the proceedings, which lasted a few minutes only. The body Of the Court was densely crowded. Sergt. Miller, after the charge had been read by the Clerk of the Court, stated that the victim of the affray was confined to his bed, and asked that prisoner be remanded for a week. The application was granted. The question of granting bail was rot raised. Accused was taken to Wellington by the afternoon train, where he will be kept in custody until ha appears again next Wednesday.
