SALE OF A DAIRY HERD.

At the Gear Island farm, Lower Hutt, at 2 o'clock, to-morrow, on account of the Riverside Dairy Company, Mr H. E. Leighton will sell at auction the whole of their herd of 97 cows and heifers, a number of which are in milk and the balance due to calve from October onward. This sale should be of special interest to Wairarapa dairy men, as the cows have recently passed the official tuberculin test, and the average milk test is a good one. The sale is at two o'clock, and being only a short distance from the railway station farmers can attend the sale and return the same day. Particulars of the entry appears on page 8 of this issue.
