HANDICAP RIFLE MEETING.

TO.BE HELD AT MASTERTON. A meeting of riflemen, held in Masterton, last week, decided to hold a handicap rifle meeting at Masterton, on the 24th inst. The meeting will take place, at Fairview Rifles Range, Upper Plain, and will be for handicap snooting. The meeting decided to adhere to the programme arranged for the meeting to have been held last year, but which had to be abandoned, and consists of the following matches:— Gladstone Match, seven shots at 600 yards; Whakataki-Te Nui Match, seven shots at 600 yards; Te Wharau match, seven shots at 500 yards; Opaki Match, seven shots at 700 yards; Handicap Grand Aggregate Match, highest aggregate in preceding match; Championship Aggregate, highest aggregate off the rifle in all matches; All-comers' Sweepstake and Handicap Teams, Match, open to teams of five men from any club or corps. Entries for the various matches will close on the 21st inst., and handicaps will be declared at seven o'clock* on the evening prior to the match, the handicap to be arranged by a committee composed of a representative from each corps or club I competing. The meeting will commence at 7.30 o'clock in the morning.
