A REVIEW. SAILORS TIRED OF BEING ENTERTAINED. Received September 4, 9.58 a.m. MELBOURNE, September 4. Fifteen thousand of the Commonwealth forces and 2,500 Americans participated in the review yesterday. The weather was fine, and there were fifty thousand spectators. The Commonwealth Government provided a dinner in the night in the Exhibition building for three thousand men of the fleet, but only seven entered an appearance. In connection with this and several other functions, the visitors have shown a preference for entertaining themselves in their own way to being entertained. A RIFLE MATCH. MELBOURNE, September 4. A xifie match between United States fleet and Melbourne Rifle Club teams (15 aside) resulted:— Americans ... 1,414 Melbourne Clubs ... 1,379 Corpnral Farquharson, of the battleship Connecticut, won the Challenge Cup presented by New Zealand riflemen. A BANDSMAN KILLED. MELBOURNE, September 4. A bandsman belonging to the battleship Vermont fell under a moving train and was killed. Another of the Vermont's crew fell out of a moving train, and had his skull fractured. THE CADET SYSTEM. PRAISE FROM ADMIRAL SPERRY. MELBOURNE, September 4. Speaking at a gathering of journalists, Admiral Sperry gave high praise to the cadet system, as witnessed by him in New Zealand and Australia.
