RIFLE SHOOTING.
CARTERTON RIFLE VOLUNTEERS. The Carterton Rifle Volunteers opened the shooting season at the Belvedere Butts on Thursday afternoon, when a squad of men proceeded to the butts under command of Lieutenant Hart. Seven shots each were fired at the 400 yards and 500 yards range, the possible being 28 at each range. The following are the scores: — 400 Yds. 500 Yds. Tl. Sergt. Roydhouse 26 18 44 Pvte.
