SALE OF BANKRUPT STOCK.

THE LAST WORD IN LOW PRICES. It is not often that a fresh and up-to-date stock such as that in the bankrupt estate of F. B. McCay can be purchased for a mere song; but such a thing does happen occasionally. The lucky purchasers in this instance are Messrs Cole and Westerman, the enterprising drapers from Wellington, whose business is one of the bright ones of the Empire City. When tenders were invited by the Official Assignee for McCay's stock, they put in a tender which they thought, owing to its lowness, would have a hundred to one chance of acceptance — but it got there. The stock is now to'be sold, and in order to effect a speedy clearance, astonishingly low prices have been fixed upon. In an inset circulated with this issue, figures are quoted which must instil a "buying feeling" into the most miserly, whilst those who appreciate exceptional inducements in cut prices, are sure to attend at the shop to-day. The range of men's clothing is large and varied, the quality good, and prices bedrock. Householl drapery is offered away below manufacturers' cost, whilst piles of fashionable and seasonable dress goods at Is a yard, is just about the last word in bargains. A few shillings spent in sheetings and calicoes would get sufficient to last a lifetime, whilst ladiaa' jackets, costumes, children's and men's clothing will go at any price. After psnibing the inset and noting prices, the next best thing to do is to visit the sale, which will open this morning in the premises recently occupied by F. B. McCay.
