A MAN LOSES HIS LIFE

BY TELEGRAPH—PUESS ASSOCIATION. INVERCAKGILL, August 31. A four-roomed house at Makarewa, owed by Mr Joseph Fraser, was destroyed by fire. Mr Fraser, aged 66, an invalid, was burnt to death. His wife and son were engaged milking in a shed one hundred yards away, and the place was in flames when they reached the scene. Later. At the inquest, to-day, on the body of Joseph Fraser, who was burned to death in his house at Makarewa, on Sunday, the jury found that death was due to suffocation and burning, arid that no dame was attachable to anjons. John Russell was commended for hia prompt efforts at rescue.
