PAREORA-COLAC COLLISION.
Received August 31, 9.7 a.m. SYDNEY, August 31. The stern of the collier Pareora (650 tons) was smashed in the collision at the Heads with the steamer Colac (1,480 tons), at an early hour on Saturday morning. TWO YEARS' CYCLING. Received August 31, 9.7 a.m. ADELAIDE, August 31. The cyclist Birtles has arrived from P"rt Darwin. He has cycled 12,000 miles since he left Perth about two years ago. DRAPERY ESTABLISHMENT BURGLED. Received August 31, 10.48 p.m. SYDNEY, August 31. The emporium of David Jones, draper, was burgled on Saturday night, and about £I,OOO worth of jewellery, gowns and material stolen.
