MAORI MISSION.
SALE OP WORK. A sale of work in aid of the Maori Mission waj held in St. Matthew's schoolroom last evening, and proved very successful. There was a good attendance of the public, and record business was reported. The various stills presented an attractive aopiarance, each being under capable .management. Miss G. Brown anly came:! out the duties of secretary, and Miss Eileen Murray acted as treasurer. The following is a list of the various stalls and those in charge:— Produce Stall, Masters S. Porter, C. La Roche, and S. Harding; Sweet Stall. Misses Robinson, G. Murray, Pinhey, and Perry; Refreshments, Mesdames Fannin and Pinkerton, and Misss Fannin; Doll Stall, Misses Waddington and Thomas (3); Flower Stall, Misses Gladys Lett, Doris Johnston and Elsie Boyd; Needlework Stall, Misses Brown, Ross, Henderson, Hyde and Pinhey; Bran Tub, Misses H. Fuller, E. Waddington and A. Snellgrove; Hat Trimming, Competition, Misses Carley and Moore; Gipsy Tent, Mrs Edwards. Mr Eagar was in charge of the Maori curios.
During the evening songs were rendered by Mrs Te Tau, "Sing me to Sleep" (in Maori) and "The Swallows"; and Mr Tamihana, "The Harp with a Broken String." The accompaniments were played by Miss Waddington. The sale of work v/T be continued at two o'clock thi" i»fteriioou in St. Matthew's Schot lioom.
