PERSONAL.
An ex resident of Grey town, and a Very old identity, named John Hillier, died at Marlon on Tuesday. The death is announced from Kaitawa of Mh J. McK. Morris, of Haunui. Thi deceased was 31 years of age. Miss H. and Messrs E. and D. McMaster, of Matawhero (Lower Valley) have booked passages to England by the Rimutaka. They will sail to-morrow. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Masterton Football Club, last the resignation of Mr D. E Parton, the Club's Secretary, who has been promoted to the senior clerkship in the Taihape Post Office, was received v/ith regret. Members of the Committee referred in eulogistic terms to the manner in which Mr Parton had carried out his duties during the seven years he had been Secretary, and to the excellent way in which he had guided the Club to success. At the Pahiatua Hospital on Monday last, Mr Munro, of the staff of Messrs Barraud and Abraham, died suddenly of pneumonia. The deceased, who was only a comparatively young man, was a native of the South Island, and came to Palmerston North from Auckland to represent Messrs Booth, McDonald and Co., for whom Messrs Barraud and Abraham are district agenfs. He left Palmerston North only op Tuesday of last week, and entered the Hospital on Thursday. The late Mr Munro leaves a young wife, who is at present residing in Auckland.
