LATE FOOTBALL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Received August 25, 10.20 p.m. SYDNEY, August 25. The Equity Court in the case of Jack versus Asher and other members of the Maori team, cabled on June 23rd, the Court made a decree by consent on behalf of Asher and eleven other defendants declaring that there was due to the plaintiff for costs of the suit and damages the sum of £165, which should be charged on any moneys in the hands of the Football League due to the de< fendants. The Court dismissed the suit with costs against four other defendants who had not been served with a statement of the claim, and made an order against nine others in default of appearance in the same terms as against the first mentioned twelve.
PALMERSTON N.. August 25. H. G. Hewitt was disqualified for three years by the Manawatu Rucby Union to-night for failing to attend a meeting of the Union to explain his action in refusing to play against Wanganui on the 15th inst., and for writing an insultirg letter to the Union in respect thereto.
