THE FARMING OUTLOOK.
Farmers have so far enjoyed an exceptional winter, and are now experiencing a more than usually favourable lambing season as regards climatic conditions. The marketr, however, are causing serious misgivings, which detracts from the brightness of the outlook to a material extent. The fat sheep market is disappointingly low, the chaff market has fallen, and the tat stock market generally is very unsatisfactory. Gutter is the only commodity which shows any stability of price just now, and with the nfar approach of the dairy season, it is doubtful how long that will remain firm. Bountiful seasons are of little benefit if the markets are unsympathetic, and farmers are looking anxiously forward to an improvement in the latter respect.
