LABOUR DELEGATES.
Among the items on the Estimates is one of £75, to cover the cost of jassagaa of delegates attending the Labour Conference recently held at Wellington. When the vote came up for consideration in the House of Representatives on Friday night, Mr W. Herries, M.P. for Bay of Plenty, said it was suggested that the conference did not really represent Labour, and therefore he wanted to know why the delegates should have their expenses paid. The Premier said the amount for this item had been passed for years. There were, however, eo many applications for votes in this direction that it became a question whether all such votes should not be stopped. The matter would have to be looked into.
