The Hon. Mr Sinclair, M.L.C., of Dunedin. met with an accident on a tram-car, last night, states a Wellington Press Association telegram. He was about to alight in front of the Government offices in Lambton Quay when he slipped and sustained cutn ■ about the head, lie was removed to. his lodgings, and beyond the injuries mentioned suffers no ill effects. The loss sustained to the Masterton Chamber of Commerce by the death of Mr John Graham was referred to at the meeting of the Council of the Chamher of Commerce yesterday by the President (Mr T. G. Mason), who referred to the valuable services rendere i by Mr Graham to. the Chamber. It was derided to forward a letter of condolence to thefamily.

Mr George Biddle died at Rang-ioira— >, recently, aged 85. He was one of the picked miners who went out to the Crimea in 1855, and assisted in?'the formation of the railway from Balaclava to Inkerman. On rehiring to England he was engaged in tunnel work. He left for New Zealand in the Robert Small, arriving in January 1860. Mr Biddle worked on the Moorhouse tunnel under Messrs Smith, and Wright until they gave up the contract, and he then worked on the same tunnel under the Provincial Council (Mr Edward Dobson, emzineer).
