PUBLIC WORKS STATEMENT.
As soon as the Consolidated Estimates are disposed of by Parliament, the Government will bring down the Public Works Statement and Estimates. The Statement, it is understood, will disclose no fresh policy. It will be remembered that in the Budget Sir Joseph Ward indicated that the construction of several new Hne3 of railway would b.e pryposed, and this has caused member's to await the Statement with more than ordinary interest.
