COLD STORAGE.
Progress is the watchword at present of all Masterton institutions. The Masterton Co-operative Dairy Company is to discuss at its annual meeting the question of establishing a cold storage depot at its factory near the Masterton Railway Station. The Directors of the Company are unanimously inclined to the idea, and from the data to be put before the general body of shareholders it is probable
that the scheme will be sanctioned.
The fullest inquiries have been mado, and it is umierstoud that sufficient local support has already beein promised to warrant the Company taking the proposed step. It is only recently that the enterprising Company put in at considerable expense the first ice-making plant in the town, and their venture met with well merited success. We have little doubt but that thera is also amply sufficient perishable products to fill their cold storage depot should it be established. Ire-making and cold storage work hand-in-hand, and with a populous town to draw upon, and a farming community in addition, the now project seems most feasible.
