ADELAIDE STEEPLECHASE. Received August 16, 4.25 p.m. ADELAIDE, August 16. The Grand National Steeplechase resulted as follows:—Sncb 1; Galw y Lad 2; Generality and Royal Park dead heat, 3. Eleven starters. S iut) took charge at the entrance of the straight and won by four lengths. Galwuy Lad was a nosfe in front of the other two who ran a dead-heat for third place. Time, 6min 183ec. SUCCESS OF A MASTERTON PONY. A cable has been received in Masterton stating that the Soult pony, Mutineer, belonging to MrT. Dwyer, of Masterton, won the Roseberry Handicap, m Sydney, on Friday last, ; aidis a "favourite in the big Sydney Pjuy Handicap, of £4OO, to be run on Wednesday, 19th next. Mutineer is weighted at 9st 51b, and is conceding Ifjlb to Balgonie, the winner of Wren's Thousand, who is handicapped 11 fcst 41b.
