FOOTBALL.
The smoke concert, held in the Exchange Hall, in connection with the Welch Family-W.F.C.A. football match, on Thursday last, was a very enjoyable function. Mr M. Welch presided. During the evening the following toasts were honoured:— "The Kinjj," the Chairman; "Welch Family," proposed by Mr H. Hall—responded to by Mr W. E. Welch; "W.F.C.A.," Chairman-Mr 0. Schubert; "Ladies," Mr Harry Wr.lch; "The Visitors," Mr E. Welcij—Messrs Piatt and Douglas; "Kindred Sports," Mr F. P. Welch —Mr N. H. McEwen; and "The Press," Songs were sung by Messrs H. Hall, C. Schubert, B. Welch, T. Thompson, G. McFarlane, N. H. McEwen and R. Henry, and recitations were given by Messrs H. Hall, C. Schubert, H. Whitt and A. P. Ralph. The hope was expressed by those present that the match and smoke concert would be made an annual affair.
