LIVELY LAND BOARD ME ETING.

A MEMBER EJECTED. BT TBLKQRAPH—I'ItKSS ASSOCIATION. NAPIER. August 14. A scene occurred at the meeting oi the Hawke's Bay Land Board day, which ended in the ejection o Mr Eustace Lane, representative o the.Crown tenants.

During a discussion of an application for the transfer of the lease of a section Mr Lane differed from the majority, and said that the transfer might be recommended to the Minister tor approval. In the course, of the discussion Mr Lane made n remark to the effect that some members of the Board were not competent to decide as to the proper course to pursue. He refused to withdraw the remark, and the meeting was adjourned to allow him time for reflection. When the Board resumed in the afternoon Mr Lane still refused to withdraw the remark, and eventually the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr H. Trent) called upon the Board's secretary to remove Mr Lane. ( The secretary obtained the assistance of the chief cleric, and they eaoh took Mr Lane by an arm. He rose without resistance, and was escorted out of the room.
