ADULTERATION OF LIQUOR.
DRASTIC FRENCH REGULATIONS. Received August 13, 9 a.m. PARIS, August 12. Drastic regulations have been framed in France against the adulteration of beer, wines, liqueurs, ard fruit juices. The regulations include the following:— No cognac may be sold as such except it comes from Charente. No champagne may be so named except it comes from the Champagne region.
No spajkling wines where the effervescence is not due to alcoholic fermentation will be allowed.
