R-ceived August 13, 9.50 p.m. NEW YORK, August 13. Mr W. J. Bryan, addressing a gathering of 18,000 at Lincoln, Nebraska, accepted nomination for the United States Presidency. He said that he held the Republicans responsible for the abuses practised by commercial corporations, because they applied opiates instead of using the surgeon's knife. Personally, he »avowed a tariff for revenue purposes only. He advocated the elec - tion of Senators by the direct vote of the people. He declared that the overshadowing issue of the present election was "shall the people rule?" The s;ieech was received with great enthusiasm.
