ACCIDENT INSURANCE AND COUNTY EMPLOYEES.
At the meeting of the Masterton County Council, held yesterday afternoon, the question of that body setting aside a certain sum yearly as an'accident insurance fund in connection with its employees was discussed. A statement of the sums paid for insurance during the last ten years was placed before the meeting, and it was shown that the Council would have benefited financially to a considerable extent if it had effected its own insurance of employees. It was eventually decided to hold the matter over for a fuller meeting of Councillors, but those in attendance were in favour of the non-renewal of the risk.
