TAYLOR-CARRINGTON PICTURES.
On Tuesday evening Mr Charles Taylor and Miss Ella Carrington will give a cinematograph entertainment in the Town Hall. The pictures to be shown include the latest and best comic, pathetic, dramatic, scenic, pantomimic, educational and biblical films. The Taylor-Carrington management with to be distinctly understood that their performance is very much more than exhibition of moving pictures; it is a cinematograph entertainment in which verbal, vocal and instrumental items are interwoven with the pictorial illustrations. This form of entertainment is said to be as novel as it is effective, and patrons should see something entirely new to them.
THE MERRYMAKERS
An entertainment of a high class order, The Merrymakers, who commence a short season of two nights here next Wednesday evening, are the first English artists to introduce to New Zealand a class of entertainment which is fit.ding favour in England and America. The Merrymakers' performances'are made up of high-class vaudeville,musical comedy, singing, monologues, musical sketches, burlesques, and artistic dances. The main idea is laugherraising, which, it is stated, The Merrymakers succeed in doing through a well sustained programme of bright and crisp 'turns'for over two hours. Reserved seats may be booked at Miss Rive's, and day sale tickets obtained at the same place.
"CINDERELLA" PANTOMIME
Messrs Anderson and Sheridan's "Cinderella" pantomime two nights' seascn will commence at the Town Hall on Monday next. A feature of "Cinderella" is the "Porcelain March," interpreted by 48 ladies of the chorus and ballet. A transformation, a harlequinade, several new ballets, the rainbow dance, and the snow and robin ballets are also introduced. The children's matinee will be given on Tuesday, August TBtb, at 2 p.m. The box plan ia open at Miss Rive*3.
