A PECULIAR INCIDENT,

Rain continues to fall
A woman, named Brown, was crossing «an open gutter at Balmain, where the grade was steep, and was swept away by the storm water, and carried into the drain pipe before assistance could reach her. The steamers Komura and Lord Stanley are overdue from the. North. It is believed that one of them has broken down and the other is towing.
Received August 10, 12.45 a.m. SYDNEY, August 9. The steamer Moorebar patsed Seal Rocks towing the Komura to Newcastle. She signalled that the Komura broke three propeller blades during the late gale.
