LAYING OUT SOLWAY.
The new General Committee of the Mascerton A. and P. Associatiun are proceeding on business lines in the matter of laying->ut Solway Showgrounds. It is in this work that many hundivds of pounds cai be misspent if the greatest circumspection is, nut observed, and although the old committee were unanimojs on certain points wli ch several new committeemen express themselves as opposed to it, is better to go over the ground again and have the matter fully investigated. It was stated-at the meeting on Saturday by Mr VV. E. BHwill that an offer had been made by Mr J. M. Johnstone, Treasurer of the Manawatu and East Coast A. and P. Mr Johnstone offered to assist the Masterton Asscciition in any way hj: coul 1 in regard to the laying-out of So I way, stating that if the Committee desired it he would visit th j new Showgrounds, and make suggestions. Naturally the | offer was accepted with avidity, and it was resalved to invite Mr Johnstone to be present at the grounds on Tuesday vvee'e. when tne Committee will hold a special meeting, and it that date was inconvenient, to fix a day to suit himself.
