FOOTBALLERS SUSPENDED.

By Telegraph—Press Association. GISBORNE, August 4. At a Rugby Union meeting last night an enquiry was held into matters in connection with the junior football match on Saturday. A line umpirs was suspended from playing for a month, a player who dissented from the referee's decision was suspended for a year, another player, (ciptain of one of the teams), for also disputing the referee's decision, leaving the field, and unsuccessfully calling his men to rio so, was disqualified for life, and warned off grounds under Ihe jurisdiction of the Union while football is in progress.
