A FINE.
NAPIER, August 3. Judgment was delivered to-day in a case brought by the police against Nellie Mugiven, a waitress at the Trocadero Restaurant, of illegally selling liquor. A similar mosecu tion against the proprietor (W. Reading) had failed. In the present case the magistrate held that a breach had been committed, and imposed a fine of £2. He refused to increase the fine to the amount necessary for an appeal on facts, and notice of appeal on the point of law was then given.
