DAIRY COMPANY REPORTS.
TARATAHI DAIRY COMPANY,
The following is the annual report of the Taratahi Dairy Company for the year ended July 31st, 1908:—The amount of milk received this season was 8,246,9141b5, being 931.2311bs leys than last year. The butter-fat amounted to 126,6131b5, the milk showing a percentage of 3.9, and produced 312,8uijibs of cheese, equal to 13L>2-tbns,a decrease of 45 tons on last season's output. Each pound of butter-fat made an average of 2.477 lbs of cheese. The falling - off in the supply of milk was due to the long summer drought which was exceptionally severe. Notwithstanding the contracted output, we have a balance foe distribution of £1,704 3s Bd, which brings the average price per pound of butter-fat over the whole season to 12.23 pence. In addition provision is made for the payment of a dividend at the rate of six per cent, on the paid-up capital. The whole of the cheese made was classed first grade, arid commanded top prices in the Home and colonial marktj's. The thanks of the shareholders ara due to the factory manager, Mr A. McKenzie, and his staff, and to the secretary, Mr Jas. Brown, for the satisfactory manner in which they have carried out their duties. Mr J. Brown hab resigned his position as secretary, after eighteen years' service. During this long verm the Company has not made a eiiilile bad debt, and the directors regret trie loss of his services. He is succeeded by Mr J. J. Mead, who is well recommended for the position. The retiring directors are Messrs W. bhhav and G. Sievers, who are eligible and offer themselves for reelection. You will also be called upon to appoint an auditor.
