—, «* Received July 30, 8.30 a. in LONDON, July 29. The Privy Council allowed the appeal in the case of W. P. Crick, exMinister for Lands in New South Wales, versus Harnett, Sergeant-at-Arms in the Statd Assembly, overriding defendant's demurrer, and dismissing the action with co3ts. In July, 1906, the Assembly adopted a resolution suspending Mr Crick from attendance until he had undergone his trial in connection with the land scandals. Mr Crick, refusmg to comply with the resolution, was removed, and then brought an action against the Serceant-at-Arms for assault involved in his removal from the House. Defendant pleaded that he had acted under the Standing Order, and the Full Court, gave judgment for plaintiff on demurrer. ! Defendant then appealed to the Privy Council, with above result.
