OVERCROWDING A THEATRE.

BT TELEGRAPH —TOESS ASSOCIATION. I AUCKLAND, July 28. Charles Bailey, lessee of His Majesty's Theatre, charged with having permitted overcrowding during the Rickards' season, admitted the offenc?, but urged that the actual occupier, not the lescce, was liable. Richard Stewart:, theatrical manager, gave evidence supporting this contention. Mr Kettle, S.M., reserved his decision, but expressed the opinion that it was only fair that persons immediately responsible for the overcrowding should be prosecuted.
