AN EGYPTIAN DEPUTATION.
Received July 29, 12.15 a.m. LONDON, July 28. At the instance of Sir Edward Grey, a deputation of the Egyptian National Assembly and Legislative Council submitted to him matters they wished to emphasise. Sir Edward Grey said he was glad to receive, for the first time, a deputation from Egyptian notabilities and promised earnestly to consider all they had said. He added that Britain had always striven, and would always, strive to benefit the progress of Egypt. The deputation were greatly phased at their reception.
