FRANK THORNTON COMPANY.
To-night Mr Frame Thornton's Company will appear at the Town Hall in that laughable comedy the "Private Secretary." Mr Thornton has appeared as the Rev. Robert Spalding more than 1,200 times. His new company of English artists include Messrs Douglas Hamilton, Charles Stone, Harry Ashford, TempKepple Stevenson, Charles Windermore, and Chas. Adams, and the Misses Belle Donaldson, Harriett Trench, Clara Manifield, Lily Willis, and Elizabeth Hawthorne, all of whom, 1 with one exception, are new to New Zealand theatre goers. The Company's performance of the piece is oriefly spoken of by the Press in New Zealand and Australia. A Sydney paper remarks: — "To see Mr Thornton as the Rev. Robert Spalding in the "Private Secretary ' is about the greatest theatrical treat that could possibly be looked "forward to." The box plan is open at Miss A. E. Rive's.
