A match will be played this afternoon on the Showground between A and B teams selected frotn the Masterton and Red Star third - class teams. 'Jha following teams have been selected by Messrs Harding and B. Iveson to play in view of the forthcoming representative match:— A team—Fullback, Osman; three■qUßrtars, Hoar, Simonsen, Johns; five-eighths, -Boyd; half-back, HanJey; wings, Ply and Wellington; forwards, De Lisle, McHattie, Iggulden, .Billing ton (Masterton), Smith, "Treen, Dean. B team—Full-back, , Simonsen; three-quarters, Yates, Hogg, Edwards; five-eighth, Messenger; half-back, Mason; wings, Coyle and O'Dowd; forwards, Rayner, •Gaily, Welch, Harris, Billington (Red Star), Dixon, Munn. The final match of the season for the Wairarapa Thursday Union Championship took place on the .Showgrounds at Carterton on Thursday afternoon, and attracted a large number of spectators. In the first ~"*-"'~speil Killop kicked a penalty goal for -the Liberals and F. Fairbrother scored a try for the Rovers. The endsd three all. In the second half Rovers had the best of the play all through by their backs' clean handling of the ball. F. Fail-brother .added two more tries to his credit, and C. Fairbrother also scored a try, "which McGuinness converted. The .game ended —Rovers, 14; Liberals, H. By this win, the Rovers win the Wairarapa Thursday Rugby Union J3atu.er iot the season. Liberal 11.. beat Rover 11., at Featherston, on Thursday by 6 points -to 3. A match .-which will decide the -Junior Championship will be played between Red Star and Dalefield, on the Showgrounds, this afternoon. The following will represent the Masterton Association Club against tfie Y.M.C.A. Association Club to--day:—T. wilder, W. Sheperd, J. ..Holmes, W. Elder, B. Jarvis, R. Nicol, McDougall, Nixon, .J. Elder, G. J. Lawrence. Emergencies— Matterson and Doyle. The Masterton team's colours are white . shirts, blue pants.
