DISCONTENT AMONGST TROOPS.
Received July 24,8.20 a.m. VIENNA, July 23. The journal "N"ue Freie Press" says the advent of well paid, wellinf jrmed officers has caused a feeling of shan.e and disccntent among Turkish officers, and that 90 per cent, are believed to actively sympathise with the young Turkish party Two battalions of troops from Smyrna refused to en:rain for Monastir.
A CHARGE OF CONSPIRACY. OFFICERS ARRESTED. Received July 24, 9 a.m. -■ CONSTANTINOPLE, July 23. Izzet Pasha, the Sultan's favourite, a id several officers have been arrested at Constantinople on a charge of conspiracy, aiming at the Sultan's abdiction. Said Pasha, an ex-Grand Vizier, has been appointed, with dictatorial powers, to succeed the Grand Vizier.
INTERFERENCE IN MACEDONIA. OPPOSED BY TURKEY. CONSTANTINOPLE, July 23 A manifesto has btfen issued stating that Turkey opposes interference in' Macedonia by the Powers or the Balkan States, and promises freedom to every race and creed if they will <co-op B rate for the country's good.
