SHORTNESS OF CATTLE. Received July 24, 10.30 a.m. SYDNEY, July 24. Owing to shortness of fat stock in Victoria, southern buyers are operating on a large scale in the Sydney market. High pri:es are being realised. MOUNT LYELL MINE. Received July 24, 9.56 a.m. MELBOURNE, July 24. The Mount Lyell mine returns from June 18th ta July 15th (inclusive) show that 30,363 to s of ore was treated, also 476 tona of purchased ore. The converters produced 694 Wis of blister copper, containing 685 tons of copper, 55,009 ounces of silver, and 1.394 ounces of gold.
